High Performance Coating System
Factory applied coating systems offer significant advantages over site applied products. Maximum coverage, absorption and the correct film build ensure superior protection to the timber.
We’ve teamed up with Sikkens who offer a wide range of coatings for factory application and for regular one-coat maintenance, ensuring optimum economic and environmental values can be achieved over the whole building’s life cycle.

As a partner within the Sikkens Sentinel Plus Wood Protection Programme, a maintenance programme is provided for every window.

This ensures maintenance is conducted at the right time with compatible products, significantly increasing the life span of joinery and keeping the through life costs to a minimum.

To ensure the continuing durability of the finish, we recommend the following procedures.

1 Wash down and inspect the joinery annually, washing removes surface pollutants and prevents the formation of bacterial / fungal growth, use a mild detergent solution and rinse using clean water.
2 Ensure that all rain water goods are clear, leak proof and free draining.
3 Do not allow the coating to break down before the application of a maintenance coat(s).
4 Avoid sanding the surface as this removes factory applied protection, if necessary, lightly abrade using a synthetic woven pad - available from most DIY stores.
5 Ensure that the surface is clean, dry and free of dust and grease.
6 Apply one coat of compatible product.

Window Locking System
Apply petroleum jelly to all locking bolts, guide slots (on frame) and striker plates at least once a year. Light machine oil should be applied to all guide slots (where slide moves) at least once a year.
